The art of concrete polishing is often a time consuming and costly process. It involves the use of a mechanical diamond grinder to remove the surface of the concrete. The exposed aggregate below is then reground again and again using finer and finer cutting heads. The whole process can take days to complete and can be extremely costly…mainly due to the amount of labour involved in the whole process.
Kleenit have a much simpler, more cost effective solution!
The concrete is firstly ground using a diamond grinder to remove the latence or “fat” of the concrete surface, revealing the aggregate beneath. The new concrete surface is then reground using a finer diamond head which leaves a nice smooth surface. Two coats of a clear polyurea coating (which is dry in less than two hours) are then applied which gives an extremely glossy look, is extremely hard wearing and enhances the remarkable colours of the aggregate below.
On an average sized floor, this whole process can be completed in just one day.
